Pianist Bill Charlap, the new artistic director of our Jazz in July summer festival, has an album coming out tomorrow on Blue Note entitled Bill Charlap Plays George Gershwin: The American Soul. And Blue Note’s put together a nice little ”ePlayer” to promote it. Charlap’s Gershwin’s Vision show here July 19 is sold out, but tickets are still available for his tributes to Hoagy Carmichael, Horace Silver, Nat “King” Cole, jazz piano and jazz guitar.
