Leonard Cohen: I’m Your Man

Leonard Cohen, poet/musician, has been hailed as one of the most influential singer/songwriters of his (or any) generation. His footprints are found all over the popular music landscape from the 1960s to the present. Next week at Makor, you can catch a screening of the documentary Leonard Cohen: I’m Your Man. Here’s his performance of the hit “Suzanne” at the Isle of Wight concert in 1970.

UPDATE: Cohen also appeared at the Y as part of our Unterberg Poetry Center Reading Series back in February of 1966. He read excerpts from his famous experimental novel Beautiful Losers and sang “The Stranger Song.” Want to listen to the full recording? Call 212.415.5544 to set up an appointment.

[Leonard Cohen: I’m Your Man: 9/19/06 and 9/20/06]

Note: There will not be a post-screening discussion on 9/20 and the price will change accordingly.
