20 Years of Reel Pieces

Our Reel Pieces film screening and onstage interview series with Columbia University’s Dr. Annette Insdorf has long been one of our most popular. How popular is it? So popular that tickets for our 2006 20th anniversary season are nearly sold out and we haven’t even announced any of the guests yet. Patrons know that Reel Pieces guests are often announced at the last minute and are always major actors or filmmakers of great interest. Last year Philip Seymour Hoffman sat on the same Kaufmann Concert Hall stage that Truman Capote first read In Cold Blood from for a screening and discussion of the Academy Award-winning Capote. Other recent guests include John Travolta, Annette Bening, Ralph Fiennes and Richard Gere.

Here’s a video of highlights from the last two decades of Reel Pieces featuring Sean Penn, Robert Altman, Glenn Close, Alec Baldwin, Julianne Moore, Holly Hunter and our own Dr. Annette Insdorf. Enjoy.
