Nellie McKay Update

Nellie MckayBefore Nellie McKay’s sold-out Makor show on Monday, we thought we’d point out that Billboard has just released info on McKay’s new album, including a track listing. Also, according to Billboard, McKay will be starring as Polly Peachum in a Broadway adaptation of Weill and Brecht’s Threepenny Opera, alongside Edie Falco and Alan Cumming.

E.O. Wilson on Darwin

Edward O. WilsonHarvard magazine recently republished the introduction from Edward O. Wilson’s new book on the “timeless and consistently inspirational” science of Charles Darwin [via Jason Kottke]. Very interesting and engaging stuff. Wilson’s new book is actually a reprint and guided tour of the four great works of Darwin, including the original illustrations.

The two-time Pulitzer Prize winner will be here (actually Kaye Playhouse) this month, too. You are invited to come see him discuss and dissect Darwin in person on Sunday, December 18.
