2005’s Most Blogged-About Books |
|
The New York Times has put together yet another interesting year-end list: the most blogged-about books of 2005. The results aren’t shocking. Steven D. Levitt’s Freakonomics gets the top spot and former Y guests Malcolm Gladwell, Thomas Friedman, Jared Diamond and Ray Kurzweil make the cut.
What was our most blogged-about book this first six months of the 92Y Blog’s existence? Probably Joan Didion’s The Year of Magical Thinking.

Ruth Reichl on Everything |
|
Gourmet EIC and former New York Times food critic Ruth Reichl is a bit of a 92nd Street Y regular. It seems every season she stops by to talk food with some of the most interesting foodies around, and the events are always fun and stimulating. This time, she’ll be sitting down with Michael Pollan, author of the forthcoming Omnivore’s Dilemma (more on him later).
If you’re just getting to know Ruth, we recommend this eGullet Spotlight Conversation with her. In it, Ruth addresses dozens of questions from members of the eGullet Society for Culinary Arts and Letters. Topics include New York’s best food shops, the next big food destinations and David Foster Wallace on lobsters
