Author Jonathan Safran Foer (he of Everything is Illuminated and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close) puts out books that are among New York’s de rigeur subway reading. A recent film adaptation of Everything staring Elijah Wood and Gogol Bordello’s Eugene Hutz turned out to be a modest hit. Meanwhile, JSF has been keeping busy with freelance projects.

We just received word that the New Yorker’s Adam Gopnik will be interviewing Bernard-Henri Lévy for his January appearance.

Lévy, French philosophical superstar and sometimes investigative reporter (Who Killed Daniel Pearl?), will be discussing his forthcoming book, American Vertigo: Traveling America in the Footsteps of Tocqueville.

Gopnik’s Francophile credentials are unimpeachable: The longtime Paris resident wrote a new children’s book set in the city. We also liked his recent New Yorker article on C.S. Lewis.
