Continuing our MindCapsules series we have journalist and author Malcolm Gladwell featured in the video clip above. In it, he shares a life lesson he learned at 15 years old in backwards running. At the “Canadian championships,” Malcolm was with Canadian Open record holder David Reid, who suggested they run up “this incredibly steep hill.”
I realized that I would never, I did not have what it takes to be a great runner. Because great runners are people who run up steep hills backwards. And I quit running at the end of the summer.
