The ECNY awards: “New York’s original comedy awards,” took place on Monday when fifteen awards were presented to New York City’s favorite comedians. The Comix blog reported that Michael Ian Black was there via “live” feed from Reno, Nevada, and introduced the award for: “Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Tweeting.”

“We couldn’t be more proud of the winners,” said ECNY producer Alex Goldberg. “With over 5,000 people voting online, coupled with our industry committee votes, we made sure that the absolute best comedians working in New York were honored with the most prestigious award imaginable: a mention in a press release about the ECNYs.” And the 92Y Blog! 

92YTribeca’s Risk! True Tales Boldly Told series won an ECNY for Best Variety Show. For those unaware, RISK! is a show where people tell true stories they never thought they’d dare to share, live on stage, featuring some of the brightest actors, writers and comedians around. See if for yourself in person; The next RISK! is tomorrow, Mar 11.
