92Y Tribeca: New Favorite Place to See Movies

Who went shopping this Friday, and more importantly, what did you buy?! Or are you waiting for Cyber Monday sales today? We passed on the shopping, and held a double feature at 92YTribeca instead, showing Mallrats and Clueless, and fun was the order of the evening. But you don’t have to take our word for it. The blogger behind Go Do NYC attended as well, and took to her blog to tell everyone about it. She writes:

It is a really great space. They have a little cafe with big windows, comfy chairs and a few televisions with sports on and music low enough to talk over. The cafe serves interesting snacks and beer and wine. At the intermission we ordered the hummus and the chocolate pudding and both were quite tasty.

In addition to the cafe, there is a screening room where we saw the movies, it is fairly small, seating maybe 75 people and a big screen. But the theater is new and seats were comfortable and you almost felt as if you were watching a movie in your own private screening room with a bunch of your friends. You could bring the yummy food into the theater to watch the movie.

We have to say, she is spot on! We bet Wes Anderson and Jason Schwartzman would agree. And the film fun continues apace at 92YTribeca. For instance, this Friday we are showing The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Uma Thurman’s breakout film. (In our minds anyways.) Then on Saturday, Dec 5, it’s the The Iron Mule Short Comedy Film Festival. You can browse all upcoming film events at 92YTribeca, here.
