92Y Video: Calvin Trillin, Deadline Poet

Humorist Andy Borowitz hosted “Countdown to the Election"—an evening of comic-infused political discourse—at the Y on May 13 with an A-list panel of commentators including comedian/actress Susie Essman, Newsweek senior editor Jonathan Alter and The New Yorker staff writer Calvin Trillin. In the video excerpt above, Trillin reads recent highlights from the weekly “Deadline Poet” column in The Nation that he’s been writing since 1990.

Andy Borowitz returns in October for one last round of “Countdown” with Joy Behar, Jeffery Toobin and more to be announced.
