92Y Video: Christopher Buckley in Conversation with Tina Brown

Christopher Buckley, the author of 14 books, his latest being Losing Mum and Pup, joined the The Daily Beast’s Tina Brown in conversation last night at the 92nd Street Y. (If you wanted to meet them, there was a book signing too.) The talk focused on Buckley’s new book, which created quite a stir when advance copies were reviewed. In the video above, Tina asks him about the impetus for writing it and experiences with his father.

TB: He was pretty difficult frankly to have as a father, was he not? ...There were times when you pretty much felt you had to kind of fight for your life in that setup, as you described.
CB: Well...I’m the Park Avenue Frank McCourt.

Of course there was also some small talk about politics. When she asked, “Are there any Republican candidates you feel optimistic about for in 2012?” he replied simply, “no.”

Time Out New York has a recap of the evening as well.
