92Y Video: Inside Our Jewelry Studios

Klaus Bürgel is just one of the very talented jewelry teachers here at the 92nd Street Y. Klaus received his training at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich and at the Goldschmiedeschule Pforzheim, and has had one-person exhibitions all over the United States. In the video clip above, peer into Klaus’ Jewelry Fabrication class for a sneak peak at his studio, where he was gracious enough to give us a quick review of what was happening.

We also popped by an enameling class taught by Honey Jeanne Laber—one of only a few enameling workshops in New York City. PBS’s Craft in America filmed an episode at our studios for good reason. You can see examples of some of the beautiful work done by past students and faculty.

Summer programs are on sale now, so make sure to browse the complete listing of jewelry classes and workshops offered at our Art Center.
