In this video, cellist Miklós Perényi and pianist András Schiff perform Beethoven: Adagio cantabile - Allegro vivace from Cello Sonata in A, Op. 69 at 92Y in 2007. One YouTube commenter remarks, “At last a duo where the piano doesn’t kill the cello… The clarity is fantastic and the music making serene.” We agree. Perényi returns tomorrow, Feb 23, with pianist Benjamin Hochman for our Hungarian celebration and again on Feb 27 for Schiff’s In Focus series on Franz Josef Haydn.
