92Y Video: The Milarepa Children’s Theater and Chorus

The Milarepa Children’s Theater and Chorus, whose members are children and young adults of Tibetan, Asian and Western descent living in New York City, offer traditional songs of Realization as taught by the great Tibetan Yogi and Scholar Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche and the Vidyadhara Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. Artistic Director Rochelle Weithorn explains the songs follows the Doha tradition dating back to the Buddha who used songs to teach the path of awakening and the great Tibetan yogi Milarepa who lived and practiced in mountain retreat.

They performed at 92Y on Jun 22, followed by a conversation with Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche and Daniel Goleman.

The chorus was being led by Chorus Director Paul Griffin, and guest Director Harry Einhorn. Music was played by Steve Gorn.

  • Controversy and Conversion with Rabbi David Kalb: Sep 15
