“I was lucky enough to grow up in the 60’s and 70s ...fashion models were not famous people that you were supposed to admire.” That was Katha Pollitt this past Sunday at 92nd Street Y in a panel discussion, Women, Power and Politics with Nita Lowey and Rebecca Traister, moderated by Gloria Feldt.
In the video clip above, Rebecca Traister discussed what it was like to be a woman writer in the 90s, Katha explored how the media either helps or hinders women (one website she likes very much is Jezebel.com), and Congresswoman Nita Lowey addressed what young women are dealing with now as opposed to years past.
