CNBC’s Maria Bartiromo was interviewed by BusinessWeek Editor-in-Chief Stephen J. Adler for the Captains of Industry series at New York’s 92nd Street Y on Oct 1.
Maria spoke about her nickname, “Money Honey”, being a women in a sea of suits, growing up in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn, and more. We learned her father had an Italian restaurant called Rex Manor, which is still in business today, where Maria worked as a coat check girl. The restaurant was named after a ship, The Rex, that her grandfather Carmine traveled on in 1919 when he arrived in America. She also confides that she you used to daydream about being Farrah Fawcett while at work in her dad’s restaurant. Watch that and more in the full video here.
