Time Magazine called Battlestar Galactica one of ”The 100 Best TV Shows of All-TIME”. The series was so widely influential, or at least widely popular, the New York Times reported, “in advance of the grandly anticipated conclusion of “Battlestar Galactica” on [Mar 20], the United Nations convened a panel to discuss the show’s treatment of terrorism, human rights abuses and religious conflict.”
Video montages created by fans are sprinkled throughout YouTube, and a hotly anticipated spinoff movie The Plan, is coming soon. As well, the SciFi channel recently released 13 videos online showing behind the scenes footage that’s making the buzz impossible to ignore.
On June 12, cast members from Battlestar Galactica will join leading roboticists on stage at the 92nd Street Y as part of the World Science Festival to explore scientifically, philosophically and ethically the approaching frontier where intelligent machines are commonplace and cybernetic technology enhances human capabilities. Featuring sneak previews from the forthcoming Battlestar spinoff The Plan as well as live appearances by some of the shows favorite cylons, we wouldn’t be surprised if this turns into mini fan convention, complete with people in costumes, and fans clamoring for autographs.
