Fred and Ginger in So Many Words…And Ten Films

Ginger Rogers, ”who did everything [Fred Astaire] did backwards...and in high heels,” is Turner Classic Movie’s Star of the Month. That means all month TCM is featuring Ginger Rogers films; As of today they have 41 films left on the schedule—including all ten she made with Fred Astaire. Tonight for instance is The Gay Divorcee, the second film that featured Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers team.

imageBerlin, Porter, Kern, Fields, Gershwin and many others wrote songs for the movies of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers; You’ll hear much of that music in the films selected by TCM this month.
