Give My Regards to 92nd & Lexington

imageMeet David Alvarez, one of “the best young dancers in the US at the moment” who just celebrated his 14th birthday this month. The candles are not dimming on him any time soon; he will be performing in Billy Elliot the Musical this fall on Broadway. In addition to preparing for his role with acting and dance classes, he is fine-tuning his music chops at the Y. From a recent feature on PerformingArtsKids.com:

I also play the piano and have been training at the 92nd Street Y School of Music in classical piano for two years. Last year, I was awarded the Recanati-Kaplan merit full scholarship to continue my training in piano at this school. It was also at this school where I had my debut as a singer, when I sang “Where is Love” from Oliver! for Victoria Clark.

Read more about David and his stage pals.

Whether you think your child has a natural gift for the Great White Way or not, the Y offers engaging and supportive music and dance classes for children and teens of all levels.
