Happy at Work, Happy at Home: The Girl’s Guide to Being a Working Mom

imageDo you enjoy your job? Leave the office skipping down the street, whistling children’s Shababa songs? Or is that just us? Well if it makes you feel any better, we’ve had jobs we abhorred too, like that time we did phone sales for a local newspaper. Yah, that was not an easy sell.

Public relations professionals and authors Caitlin Friedman and Kimberly Yorio (The Girl’s Guide to Being a Boss and The Girl’s Guide to Kicking Your Career into Gear) believe that if you are happy at work, you will be happy at home. They pay particular attention to working moms, and Sep 17 they will be at 92YTribeca for a discussion on the challenges of having a job you enjoy, a home life that is fulfilling, and being the kind of parent you aspire to be.

Upcoming talks at 92YTribeca:

  • The Daddy Shift: Transforming American Families: Jul 22
  • The New World of Sales with Racked.com: Jul 23
  • Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter: An Introduction: Jul 29

I have spent the past 8 months interviewing moms on this very topic.  Malaak Compton-Rock (wife to Chris Rock) told me her mantra… “A happy mommy makes a happy family.” Amen to that! You are so on the mark!
