Summertime is here. For some of you that means choosing a summer camp for your children. For others it might mean taking a vacation to some far off locale such as Maine. And yet for others it means a staycation in the city. The City of New York and it’s rich cultural institutions make for a very fulfilling, if not blazing hot, summer in the city. Street fairs, art installations, Central Park, bike paths, movies under the bridge. Times Square is now essentially a pedestrian mall. City Parks has a calendar of free music, arts, theater, and dance that seem limitless. Not a week passes that doesn’t see a newspaper or magazine feature dedicated to the 50 best things to do this summer in New York City. Blogs like Mommy Poppins put together fabulous lists of things to do in New York City with your children. NYC Dad’s group, an active participant at our Parenting Center, has also put together their own list of activities for you and your baby this summer in the city. The Rooftop at the MET Museum, the Watertaxi beach, and Governor’s Island are places mentioned. For some indoor programs, we’d like to mention our Indoor Playtime and Lunch Bunch drop-in programs as a flexible and easy option that run through July. Or check out all of our Parenting Center options here.
Have a safe and happy summer no matter where you go or what you do.
