Submissions to The New York Times Six-Word Memoir contest
If you thought it seemed like just last February that 92YTribeca hosted a six-word memoir slam, you’d be right!
Another one is scheduled for May 18, a Six-Word Memoir Story Slam about mothers and daughters, fathers and sons. The New York Times Well Blog has caught wind and is running a contest around the event, with a spin. They want your “momoirs,” and ask: “Can you sum up your mother in just six words?” Read the hundreds submitted thus far, and check the comments for many more.
Do you have your own six-word memoirs about your parent(s) or sibling(s)? Share them in the comments below!
SMITH magazine’s “I Am Turning Into My Mother” Six-Word Story Slam happens May 18 at 92YTribeca; tickets are available here.
