Michael Gross’s Park Avenue Babylon

Michael GrossNew York gossip legend Michael Gross recently made it to the front page of the Times real estate section with his new book, 740 Park: The Story of the World’s Richest Apartment Building.

In a city filled with exclusive, cliquey apartment buildings, 740 is the reigning king. The apartment building’s notorious co-op board turned down Barbara Walters, Barbra Streisand, Joan Crawford and Neil Sedaka as potential residents. Among the people living inside the building’s “30 stacked mansions with enormous galleries” are some of New York’s wealthiest and most prominent socialites.

And Gross found some incredible dirt on those residents to include in 740 Park. In fact, being a family blog, we can’t even repeat most of it. Infidelities, drug use, wild parties, billionaires behaving badly—Gross managed to put it all inside.

But if you want to hear all the dirt in person and get a look inside the lives of New York’s most pampered oligarchs and the world’s most exclusive apartment building, you’re in luck. Join us on Wednesday, November 2 for a special lunchtime talk with Michael Gross at the Steinhardt Building. You’ll come back to the office with some juicy gossip and great stories for your co-workers. We promise.
