Paris Hilton vs. Shawn Green: We’re Going Camp

image
One of these celebrities is not like the others (L to R): Paris Hilton, Tony Hawk (pro skateboarding), Shawn Green (pro baseball), Emmitt Smith (pro football)

Like the Jewish Daily Forward’s The Shmooze, the 92Y Blog has had very little opportunity to mention Paris Hilton. (Find Your Perfect Colors, perhaps?) Last week they got their first chance—thus, in an act of making a huuuuuge stretch, ours too—to mention the hotel heiress with a story about the next season of her reality show The Simple Life being taped at Camp JCA Shalom in Los Angeles. (Don’t worry, rabbinical supervision and safeguards are in place—plus, they’re shooting during the camp’s off-season.) This got us thinking about the 92nd Street Y’s own camp programs. Maybe we don’t have Paris Hilton to show the kids any chihuahua tricks but we have baseball star Shawn Green and a partnership with the School of Visual Arts if you fancy your youngster on the sports diamond, silver screen or both! Read more about these recently announced programs and find everything you need to know about Y Camps here.
