Rabbi Robert Levine (dressed as Elvis) recently led the bris ceremony for a boy named Elvis (of course)
You may recall the contentious debate between Christopher Hitchens and Rabbi Shmuley Boteach on the existence of God at the 92nd Street Y in the beginning of this year. Robert Levine, chief rabbi of Rodeph Sholom Synagogue in New York City, makes a special appearance at the Y on September 4 to offer a more moderate message with his new book, What God Can Do for You Now: For Seekers Who Want to Believe. He will discuss the atheism of Hitchens and Richard Dawkins as well as the fundamentalism of Evangelicals and neoconservatives to provide common sense reasons why faith and prayer can profoundly change the quality of our lives. Maybe he can even answer if Elvis is still alive?
