Are you a New York based artist who could use some money to develop a “big, edgy” project with a Jewish focus? You’re in luck. UJA-Federation has funded the Six Points Fellowship program with $1,000,000—the largest grant UJA-Federation has ever awarded to an arts organization.
The two-year fellowship will provide 12 artists (in music, visual arts and performing arts) with:
Stipend: $12,500 per year for two years ($25,000 total) to support the individual artist while they devote a significant percentage of their time to the development of their art.
Project Grant: Up to $10,000 per year for two years (up to $20,000 total) to help fund the completion, marketing, and distribution of their project.
Monthly Salons: An opportunity to come together as a cohort for fellow and professional led conversations and workshops covering topics such as public speaking, negotiation skills, budget management, and fundraising essentials.
Retreats: 3 retreats over the 2 years of the fellowship will offer fellows the opportunity to workshop their projects and build professional skills away from the hum and pull of everyday life in New York City.
Coaching/Mentorship: The Program Director will assist fellows in creating individualized plans for their strategic development, and one-on-one guidance, project feedback, and access to external resources and contacts.
Applications are available online and must be postmarked by August 31, 2006. Get moving.
