• Fiction with Martha Cooley: She’s the best-selling author of The Archivist and teaches writing seminars at Bennington and Boston University. You could also follow her to Siena. Blogger Sheila O’Malley is still raving about a class she took with her last summer.
• Fiction with Sandra Newman: Many people called her first novel—The Only Good Thing Anybody Has Ever Done—a cult classic, and it earned her comparisons to Kurt Vonnegut. You’d be hard-pressed to find a better review than this one. She has gambled for a living.
• Poetry with Molly McQuade: Her writing has received fellowships and awards from the New York Foundation for the Arts, the Pew Charitable Trusts, PEN and the National Council of Teachers of English. Her poetry received NYU’s Philo and Sally Higley Award. She has been the editor of the monthly magazine Poetry Calendar and National Poetry Month wouldn’t be the same without her.
• Poetry with Emily Fragos: She has compiled poetry collections on dance and cats. Listen to her read one of her own that appeared in the Paris Review.
