Tabloid Culture: Us Weekly vs. Them

The celebrity gossip world is abuzz with Britney Spears’ pregnancy announcement on The Late Show with David Letterman last night. No doubt it will be the subject of deep analysis at tonight’s Makor roundtable on Tabloid Culture with Jessica Coen of Gawker, Kelly Will from Star magazine, and Jessica Seigel—an NYU professor whose cultural commentary has appeared in The New York Times and NPR. Author, journalist and Reluctant Metrosexual Peter Hyman will lead the dandy discussion.

Watch Britney’s “surprise” announcement below and then check out Best Week Ever’s exclusive exit footage.
