On July 22, Gawker wrote a piece about Arianna Huffington, co-founder and editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post, moving to Manhattan. The headline: Arianna Huffington Is Moving to New York. Later the same day, FishbowlNY refuted that report after speaking with a spokesman for The Huffington Post: “She’s not moving to NY, though she’s taken an apartment here. She’s keeping her house in LA.” Four days later, The New York Observer publishes a piece headlined Writing About The Huffington Post is Difficult. It begins:
Daniel Lyons writes for Newsweek this week about Arianna Huffington, who has recently turned 60 and moved to New York City from Beverly Hills to be closer to her business and her daughters…
So then, glad we’ve cleared that up. To recap: Arianna is moving to Manhattan; no she is not; she already has.
Here is something about Arianna you can be sure of. On September 7, she’s coming to the 92nd Street Y to discuss her hard-hitting book, Third World America: How Our Politicians Are Abandoning the Middle Class and Betraying the American Dream, part of the Captains Of Industry series, with Norman Pearlstine moderating. Pearlstine is chief content officer of Bloomberg LP and chairman of Bloomberg Businessweek.
Next up in Captains of Industry is Carol Bartz (Dec 7) and Diane von Furstenberg (Jan 13).
