The Healthful Power of Raw Energy

Raw foodists believe that foods exposed to cooking temperatures in excess of 112 degrees Fahrenheit will lose living enzymes and other compounds considered to be crucial to aiding digestion, boosting energy levels and fighting diseases. Eating raw food has grown in popularity in recent years and some have elevated the diet to the level of fine dining.

Is the raw food diet an extreme cuisine, or a flavorful new way to energize, cleanse and heal your body? Lisa’s Living Well founder Lisa Mann, a French-trained chef and the author of The World Goes Raw Cookbook: An International Collection of Raw Vegetarian Recipes, will visit 92Y on Tuesday, March 1 to discuss the benefits of raw foods and to provide tips on meal planning and preparation. She’ll also share a list of must-have raw foods.
