Video: The Recovery of ABC News Journalist Bob Woodruff

Bob Woodruff has covered major stories for ABC News since 1996 and was named co-anchor of World News Tonight in December 2005. In January 2006, while reporting in Iraq, he was seriously injured by a roadside bomb. Last October, he sat down with James F. Hoge of Foreign Affairs magazine at the Y to discuss the role of the war correspondent and reflect on America’s role in the world. Woodruff and his wife Lee co-wrote a memoir, In an Instant (just released in paperback), chronicling his recovery and how their family persevered. In the video clip above, he talks about the process.

Foreign Affairs Conversations with James F. Hoge continue in May with Newsweek International editor Fareed Zakaria, author of international bestseller The Future of Freedom and the soon-to-be-published The Post-American World.
