What’s in Your Refrigerator Right Now?

That’s a question the Village Voice recently asked Brooklyn resident and author Jonathan Ames in an interview. He responded:

Almost nothing. Some cheese in a plastic Tupperware thing and some olives. An old coffee I must have planned to reheat. A jar of jam and a jar of relish given to me as presents. Two old bottles of Perrier. One old kombucha. One old bottle of cod-liver oil.

imageWe love it! And it seems as if we started a trend. Finding out what is in your kitchen is so hot right now.

We like the line of questioning so much that we recently created a video series based around a similar concept. Perhaps you saw the premier video with New York Times reporter Jennifer 8. Lee?

Lee will be here for a talk: Jews and Chinese Food: A Love Affair, on Dec 20. Purchase your tickets here. The next 92Y Fridges video coming up will be with Mike Colameco, host and producer of Public Television’s Colameco’s Food Show. We’ve shot it and edited it, and are getting ready to post it online.

It looks like we will have to see about doing one with Jonathan Ames as well!
